Coordinator: Houman Saberi

In the ten years since the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition planted the seeds for an approach to technology that restores relationships and heals neighborhoods, local residents across the US have built technology based on principles of justice and resilience.

We are still working to counter the effects of technologies that threaten our civil liberties, digital rights, and privacy. Community Tech New York are continuing to model the world we want to see, while resisting the implementation of harmful technologies in our communities. Our network gathering brings together community technologists and co-liberators to learn about the challenges, successes and lessons learned from organizations and individuals in places like Detroit, New York, Tennessee, California and beyond.

Over the course of two days, through presentations and hands-on workshops, participants will learn necessary skills to ensure that communication remains a fundamental human right.
